EDUCATION

Churchwide education offers us a chance to learn from each other. These inter-generational groups bring together people from all ages, all walks and stations in life, and all places in their journey of faith to explore what it means for us to follow Christ in the 21st century.

Sunday School programs are offered at 9:15 every Sunday morning. We offer classes for children, youth, and adults. Classes range from traditional Bible studies, to informal discussion groups, to book studies, to multi-media classes. Exercise the heart and the mind. Find the one that fits your learning style!

STUDY GROUP

The Matthew 25 Initiative is a program of the Presbyterian Mission Agency that asks congregations to be actively engaged in the world through working to build congregational vitality, dismantle structural racism, and eliminate systemic poverty. Our Sunday morning study group will begin exploring Matthew 25 in scripture, through the Matthew 25 Initiative's resources, and in the context of what's happening right here on the Northside. It promises to be a really great and important conversation. Everyone is welcome to join and participate.

NORTHSIDE YOUTH MINISTRY

Youth group can be one of the most important and faith forming experiences of a person's life. We take pride in running a great youth group. Teenagers should be able to engage the tough questions that life gives them. They should be able to form lifelong friendships. They should be able to have fun, learn, grow, serve, and have positive mentorship. We are dedicated to creating a community for Northside youth to eat together, learn together, have fun together, make music together, serve the community together, and to learn who they are together.
The Northside Youth Ministry is a multi-church youth ministry collaborative, and is the only intentionally LGBTQIA+ affirming youth program on the Northside.

Visit our calendar on the Events page for scheduling info.
A snack and/or meal will be provided at each youth group gathering
Family Gatherings will be hosted at a family’s house.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Riverview puts on one of the best VBS programs in the city, and we're one of the last VBS programs in the area that's still free to all kids. We partner with several other churches to make sure we can provide the best services to the kids in our neighborhood. Unfortunately, in order to keep VBS free and provide the best program we can, we have to cap registration at 80 kids. That sounds like a lot, but it fills up quickly. So make sure you register early.

THEOLOGICAL LIBRARY

Exercise your mind while you grow your faith. Riverview's library has a huge number of titles and volumes to choose from. A member library of the National Church and Synagogue Library Association, we keep a well stocked and organized selection of books, periodicals, and movies for the whole family as well as a fully functioning card catalog so that you can quickly find and reference what you're looking for.

The library is a comfortable place to read, reflect or hold meetings. Weekly book discussion groups meet in the library every Sunday morning about an hour before church, and the library may be reserved for meetings, book clubs, study groups, or whatever your needs might be.

Stop by, do a little reading, check out a book or two, or just find a quiet place to reflect.
