World AIDS Day

Tuesday December 1

HIV still impacts millions of people across the globe, and right here on the Northside.

But we can see it end in our lifetime. Take some time to pray, and then find out how you can help. Find out more about World Vision's AIDS Caregiver work in Swaziland.

Service of the Longest Night

Community House

Pittsburgh, PA 15212

Service 7:00 PM

Not everyone has an easy time celebrating during the holidays. For those of us who are grieving, or who are just struggling to get by, the joyous celebrations of the season can be tough. Sometimes we just need a safe place to feel what we feel, whether that's happy, sad, or angry. That's what Blue Christmas is. It's a place to know we're not alone, even when we don't feel like celebrating.

We are preparing our selves for the days when the nations shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they study war any more. (Isaiah 2:4)

Week 2

The wolf shall live with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the kid, the calf and the lion and the fatling together, and a little child shall lead them. (Isaiah 11:6)

Week 3

December 16 - December 22

The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad, the desert shall rejoice and blossom; like the rose it shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice with joy and singing.

(Isaiah 35:1)

Week 4

December 23- December 24

The Lord will give you a sign. Look, the young woman is with child and shall bear a son, and shall name him Immanuel (God is with us). (Isaiah 7:14b)

This is the time to expectantly wait the promised justice of God's new world, and yet to praise God in Christ who reigns with justice, righteousness, joy and peace. During these weeks we anticipate the coming peace and justice of the Lord. It's a time of waiting. It's a time of hope. It's a time for being reminded that we are cared for, and that we need to care more: about our world, our neighbors, our enemies- everyone.
